Precedent Images

My precedent images show structure within nature.

I found these images interesting because all the aspects in each of these images create a pattern,

I like this image because all the seeds of dandelion create a chaotic pattern. 

I think that this sis interesting because even though its chaotic it still looks fragile and beautiful.  

I really like the structure in this image. I especially like how the different particles draw the eye

 towards the middle. the feeling that i get from this structure is a war feeling as it 

reminds me of summer, and the structure gives me the impression of  

'bringing together'.

                                                         

This  image also creates a chaotic pattern. I think that the chaotic pattern is emphasised by the
the hard look of the rocks

PART TWO

Experimenting with 3D

these are some images of my experimenting with 3D.

I didnt really like this composition because i thought it was messy, and I wanted to focus more on dots and circles rather that the lines formed by the wire.

FINAL

Algorithm 

1: on a grid of 25mm by 25mm draw 3mm circles on the grid intersection

2: increase size by 22mm - 16 times

Repetition

repeat step 1 and 2 on each intersection of the grid

Experimenting with more drawings

In this drawing I was experimenting with circles within each other, I think that this composition look clean but I think that it needs more to make the pattern look fuller.

 This two drawings are an example of how the above drawing woul look with additional circles. I was also experimenting with different shades. I think that the lighter shade of pen makes the composition look more delicate while the darker pen makes it look to bold.

In the top drawing I was experimenting with different densities, going from a bolder density of pen in the middle then gradually decreasing the density of the pen. I think this composition draws the eye from the middle of each circle out but I dont think it works well because it doesnt bring all the circles together.

The top left hand drawing is where a have coloured in the outer layer of circles, this creates a flower shape within the composition. 

Initial Drawings

These are some initial drawings that I was experimenting with different algorithms. I like the drawing in the bottom right hand corner because I think it is different from the rest and it forms a nice elegant looking composition.

This is a picture of  a weave that  i created from thick drafting film, and then I outlined the small holes within the weave. I like this idea because it is simple but i think it has a delicate look to it.

these are more drawing experimenting with dots. In this project I want to work with circles and dots to produce an elegant algorithmic pattern.
